City of London No.2 Christopher Wren Gin

City of London No.2 Christopher Wren Gin

309,350.00KPrice

A special edition from the City of London Distillery, created in collaboration with Tom Nichol, the retiring Tanqueray Master Distiller. The gin uses juniper, coriander, angelica root, liquorice and sweet orange and is named after Christopher Wren, who is of course best known for his work on St. Paul's Cathedral (which has always featured on COLD's gin labels). The new bottle shape takes inspiration from the cathedral dome, and also looks a bit like a juicer too (or a bottle of erm, Tanqueray, actually). Made in batches of 200 bottles.

Nose: Well rounded with classic pine notes, fragrant citrus and earthy creaminess.

Palate: Juniper is front and centre with sweet, sticky orange and liquorice depth.

Finish: All that's gone before comes together on the finish, fantastic stuff.

Overall: Described as a "cocktail gin", we can see this working well in all situations. An excellent collaboration.
